My clothes

My shoes

My relationship

My daughter

My health

My freedom

You whisper in my ear that my life doesn’t matter

Attempting to convince me I have no purpose

That this world is yours

That I don’t belong here

It would be better for us all if I just left

Went back home

You do everything in your power to make me hate my life

To make me lose hope

At times I listen to my left ear

You won’t leave me alone

You torment me

You torture me

Blow after blow

Antagonizing me

Draining my energy

Short of breath

I lift myself off my knees once again

Attempting to fight another battle

At the very moment when I begin to believe I cannot stand

I hear a voice in my right ear that says

“Why would he waste so much energy on you if you weren’t more powerful than him?”

The Victory is Already Won

O Earth and sea for the devil has come down to you in great rath

Because he knows his time is short

The devil is the deceiver of the whole world

You thought you were going to turn the world against me

Stripping me of my worldly possessions

Thinking you would make me feel like a fraud

By making me appear as a fraud to the world

Because it appears I have nothing

No home

A bad mother

Old Clothes

No car

Unmarried

Tired

Worn out

Exhausted from the fight

But I am not a fighter

I am a lover

See your plan backfired

You made me stronger

You made me realize that no worldly attachment or possession has any power over me

I recognized my value in the face of nothing

With nothing I am everything

You can have what I thought was my everything

I thank you for helping realize what everything truly is

My faith

The love for myself and God

That is all I need

So the lover that I am
